This Earth Day, the Fund for Our Economic Future Offers Roadmap for Northeast Ohio’s Green Future with The Practical Guide to the Green Economy

CLEVELAND—The Fund for Our Economic Future (Fund) today marked Earth Day with the release of The Practical Guide to the Green Economy. With clean investments surging to places with manufacturing infrastructure, the guide comes as a timely resource to understand the evolving economic landscape around the green economy and align strategies that will realize potential for equitable growth.  

“The green economy is the future economy,” said Bethia Burke, President of the Fund for Our Economic Future. “What it means for a region to be competitive is changing. Smart strategies today can catalyze a tomorrow where good jobs are within reach for all residents.”  

The guide, designed for leaders in economic development and related fields, demystifies the transition to a green economy. The Practical Guide aims to help the region maximize the potential benefits of the transition while enabling equitable growth for all through three strategic imperatives: 

  • Greening job hubs: Tailoring sites and support to attract green economy businesses, fostering growth while combating industrial sprawl.  
  • Future-proofing businesses: Providing comprehensive services to assist firms in seizing market opportunities within the green economy.  
  • Maximizing community benefits: Deploying solar for community wealth-building and investing in inclusive workforce and business development.
