Fund for Our Economic Future Creates Fellowship to Focus on Akron Entrepreneurial Scene, Hires Two Others

The Fund For Our Economic Future is turning its eyes toward Akron’s entrepreneurship scene.


The collaboration of Northeast Ohio philanthropic groups — working with Akron entrepreneurs and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation — has named Heather Roszczyk as Akron entrepreneurship fellow, according to a news release.


Among her duties, Roszczyk will oversee a new website called Akron is for Entrepreneurs, which helps those starting businesses link to local resources. Under the coordination of JumpStart Inc., local entrepreneurial assistance-organizations created site.


The Fund, which covers the entire Northeast Ohio region, also made two other hires. Kevin Alin joins the group as director of regional engagement, succeeding Chris Thompson, and Peter Truog comes on as director of civic innovation and insight, a newly created position.
