Fund for Our Economic Future Elects 2024 Executive Committee

Civic Members Reelected and Grants Awarded for Job Hubs and Competitive Workplaces During Annual Meeting

CLEVELAND—The Fund for Our Economic Future (Fund) today announced the election of its 2024 Executive Committee, with Vikki Broer of the Weathertop Foundation assuming the position of chair.

“Vikki has been involved since our founding members first came together 20 years ago to form the Fund, and she brings to this role both deep knowledge and an enduring commitment to an equitable economy for Northeast Ohio,” said Mark Samolczyk, outgoing chair and president of Stark Community Foundation.

“As we develop the strategic direction for our collaborative over the next three years, the diverse and experienced leadership of the entire Executive Committee will be invaluable,” Broer said.

The leadership slate was approved by Fund members at the organization’s March 14 annual meeting:

  • First Vice Chair Phoebe Lee, Civic Member
  • Second Vice Chair and Member Engagement & Development Co-Chair Christine Mayer of GAR Foundation
  • Secretary Cathy Belk of the Deaconess Foundation
  • Treasurer Finance Chair Alison Hawkinson of Community Foundation of Lorain County
  • Member Engagement & Development Co-Chair Adam Briggs of the Briggs Family Fund
  • Evaluation Chair Ricardo León, Civic Member
  • Nominating & Personnel Chair Cindy Andrews of Community Foundation of Lorain County
  • At-Large Member Marcus Madison, Civic Member
  • $+1 Million Member Treye Johnson of the George Gund Foundation
  • Strategy Chair Mark Samolczyk of Stark Community Foundation

The board also re-elected civic members Trevelle Harp, Phoebe Lee and Ricardo León. Also at the Fund’s annual meeting, members voted to award $150,000 to Team NEO to continue its efforts to increase growth in job hubs and set aside $400,000 to support new work to advance Competitive Workplaces.
