Karen works closely with Fund members to engage them in the work of the organization. She also focuses on attracting new members and new sources of revenue for Fund priorities. Karen came to Northeast Ohio and our Fund in 2012 by way of Columbus, bringing a diverse professional background as an attorney at Jones Day and The Ohio State University; a teacher at the law school, high school and middle school levels; and a volunteer leader in Central Ohio nonprofits. Her Fund work immediately immersed Karen in Northeast Ohio’s people and places, as well as fascinating economic issues. She takes great inspiration from Fund members and staff, which she considers an all-star team. Karen and her husband Mike are the parents of three children in their 20’s. An avid reader and self-professed grammar nerd, Karen spends her downtime relaxing with extended family at Lake Wawasee in northern Indiana, hiking with her golden retriever Riley, and attempting to convince her children (currently living in California and Arizona) that Cleveland rocks!
