Cleveland “is looking to make inclusive growth attainable by connecting jobs to people and people to jobs,” according to this piece on by one of the leaders of the Fund for Our Economic Future.


Peter Truog, director of civic innovation and insight at the Fund, writes that while Cleveland and other cities around the Midwest have some impressive comeback stories to tell, “concentrated poverty and economic polarization remain huge challenges in these cities. None of them are achieving inclusive economic growth — the elusive gold standard of a vibrant, thriving, sustainable economy.”


The goal, he writes, must be to “collectively find a way to connect economic opportunity with historically isolated and disconnected populations.”
